Contactless Smart Card and Reader Technologies Combined Into One Reader

HID Global of Irvine, Calif., announces the newest version of its versatile RP40 multiCLASS™ reader. The product now supports Indala 125kHz proximity and AWID, in addition to HID proximity.

The product has combined 13.56MHz contactless smart card and reader technologies into a single reader. Customers can transition from disparate proximity technologies to a unified contactless smart card solution from HID, according to the company. The reader has multiple compatibility configurations and can read access control technologies such as iCLASS®, ISO 14443B, MIFARE, DESFire and U.S. Government PIV II credentials.
