Control Panel Supports Burglar Alarm, Access and Reader I/O

The PX8 by Pacom Systems of Sarasota, Fla., is an integrated digital panel that combines the capabilities of a conventional alarm panel with access control and a card reader interface. The PX8 includes eight initiating circuits, and five outputs. It also supports 256 cardholders, daily opening and closing schedules, and offers four-door access control capability. Hence, the new Pacom control panel consolidates three separate security functions into a single control panel.

According to Pacom, the PX8 also supports up to 32 wired or wireless zones that can be assigned to up to four partitions, each one independently controlled by the client using a keypad that displays system and partition status.  An on-board modem communicates alarm conditions to a central station while operating in a common communication format.
