Convergint Launches New Communications Service Line

Published: September 10, 2008

Systems integrator Convergint Technologies has launched a new service line offering an expanded range of critical communications products and solutions aimed at enhancing life safety, physical security and protection.

The low-voltage communications systems include area of rescue assistance, paging and intercom, mass notification, nurse call communication, patient wandering systems and infant protection.

“This new service line has been driven by demand and underscores Convergint’s commitment to being our customers’ best service provider,” says Barry Yatzor, Convergint’s vice president of fire alarm and life safety and communications. “Because communications solutions are driven by local market demand, not all communications solutions are offered in all markets,” he says.

Based in Chicago with 21 locations across the United States and Canada, Convergint designs, installs and services integrated building systems that include communications, electronic security, fire/life-safety and building automation solutions.

Many of the new offerings are stand-alone systems for markets like commercial office, health care and education, but others (intercom or mass notification) may be integrated into a comprehensive security solution across any vertical market, Yatzor says.
