Convergint Technologies Acquires in Central Florida
SCHAUMBURG, Ill. — Convergint Technologies has acquired Qualified Systems Contracting Inc., a full-service electronic security integration firm, for an undisclosed amount.
Founded by Dave Torgerson in 2004, Tampa, Fla.-based Qualified Systems installs and services access control, CCTV, intrusion alarms and emergency communications systems to customers throughout Central Florida. The firm targets specific vertical markets including, commercial/industrial, government, health care, education, hospitality, retail and financial institutions. It also boasts 40 employees and has additional offices in Orlando and Jacksonville, Fla.
“Qualified Systems has been a valued partner of Convergint Technologies in the Florida market since 2006, says Ken LaChance, Convergint’s vice president of business development. “While the technical, service and geographical fit is clear, it is the cultural alignment between Convergint and Qualified Systems that will make this relationship a success.”
Since its inception 12 years ago, Convergint Technologies has experienced rapid growth. Last year, the firm, which provides electronic security, fire alarm, life-safety, building automation and health-care technology systems throughout the United States and Canada, partnered with private investment firm KRG Capital Partners. The goal of the partnership was to add acquisitions to its growth strategy.
“Qualified Systems is the first of those acquisitions,” Covergint CEO Dan Moceri explains. “We have committed to continue our industry leading growth organically and through additional acquisitions.”
Torgerson also voiced his excitement to be part of the Convergint team.
“This acquisition provides Convergint with a strong presence in the Florida market,” he says. “At the same time, it provides Qualified Systems with a foundation and footprint to better serve both our local and national clients.”
