Convergint Technologies Acquires in Eastern Canada

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – Convergint Technologies, based here, has expanded its reach into Eastern Canada after acquiring Future Security Controls (FSC), a leading provider of physical security systems and services in the region.

Convergint Technologies and FSC will combine their two businesses located in Toronto and Ottawa. Convergint will retain all of FSC’s nearly 40 employees. Other terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“FSC and Convergint also share similar company cultures, which makes the integration of our two organizations a natural fit,” says Dan Moceri, CEO of Convergint Technologies.

FSC was founded in 1982 by Sam Shalaby who has served as the company’s CEO. Shalaby will now serve as general manager of operations in Ottawa, as well as oversee the managed services business. On its Web site, FSC lists Fortune 1,000 companies, financial institutions, as well as thousands of small businesses and residential clients among its accounts base.

“Convergint and FSC have partnered together over the past several years supporting each other’s delivery of services across Canada. FSC also has a strong federal government customer base, and a ULC-listed certified monitoring center that complements Convergint’s long-term growth strategies,” Shalaby says.
