SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – Convergint Technologies has acquired Beacon Security and Communications Solutions, a leading provider of physical security systems and services in the United Kingdom and throughout Europe, for an undisclosed amount.

Founded in 1994 in Crowborough, England, Beacon Security is a value-added security solutions provider serving global Fortune 500 companies. The firm provides a wide array of world-class security services including system design, integration, support, and training.  Beacon has more than 50 employees throughout the U.K.

This isn’t Convergint’s first foray in international expansion. In 2013, the firm acquired Shanghai-based ICD Security Solutions.

“We are servicing more global customers today and continue to build-out our worldwide service capabilities,” Convergint Technologies Executive Chairman Dan Moceri says. “After expanding into Asia Pacific in 2013, the addition of Beacon now provides Convergint the ability to service global clients in the UK and throughout Europe.”

Convergint Technologies is a leading independent provider of integration services for electronic security, fire and life safety, and building automation systems. In 2012, KRG Capital Partners, a Denver, Colo.-based private investment firm, made an investment in Convergint to help the firm increase its organic growth and pursue acquisitions that will bolster the firm’s geographic coverage.

“Beacon is an important acquisition for Convergint and is consistent with the company’s strategic plan to expand through the acquisition of best-in-class security solutions providers and better serve Convergint’s multi-national customers with added geographic capabilities,” KRG Managing Director Ted Nark says.
