Convergint Technologies Makes 5th Acquisition With GS Security Systems Buy

By acquiring GS Security Systems, Convergint Technologies has expanded its footprint throughout New England.

DENVER – Convergint Technologies has expanded its footprint throughout New England and the East Coast with the acquisition of physical security systems provider GS Security Systems, for an undisclosed amount.

Founded in 2007 by Erik Sink, Joe Gillis, and Nick Sink, Tewksbury, Mass.-based GS Security designs integrated solutions consisting of access control, IP and digital video surveillance, and emergency intercom systems.

As part of the new deal, GS Security will integrate with Convergint’s Sharon, Mass.-based operations. The combined organization will provide a wide array of security and fire services including system design, installation, integration, training, and support services with a highly skilled workforce throughout New England, according to a company release.

“We continue to expand our geographic presence to serve our growing customer base,” Convergint Technologies Executive Chairman Dan Moceri says. “The addition of GS Security Systems allows us to better support customers in the New England market. We are excited to have all of the GS Security Systems colleagues join together with our existing team in New England.”

Convergint Technologies is a leading independent provider of integration services for electronic security, fire and life safety, and building automation systems. In 2012, KRG Capital Partners, a Denver, Colo.-based private investment firm, made an investment in Convergint to help the firm increase its organic growth and pursue acquisitions that will bolster the firm’s geographic coverage.

“GS Security Systems represents Convergint’s fifth add-on acquisition since KRG’s partnership with management and is consistent with the company’s strategic plan to expand through the acquisition of best-in-class security solutions providers in strategic geographic regions,” says Ted Nark, Managing Director of KRG.
