COPS Monitoring has merged with Security Command Center Inc. (SCCI), a northern New Jersey-based central monitoring station with approximately 7,600 accounts. The companies call the merge a win-win situation. COPS Monitoring transferred new accounts to its Williamstown, N.J., corporate headquarters on Aug. 9, bringing its number of monitored accounts to more than 160,000.

“SCCI’s subscribers will receive the same professional, hometown service as our other customers,” says COPS President Jim McMullen. In order to improve its coverage in northern New Jersey, the location of its new accounts, COPS has announced the construction of a new radio tower. The new radio site should improve AES coverage in the area. Dealers in northern New Jersey currently using AES radio should find that the network offers greater communication with improved redundancy. McMullen adds, “AES radio provides many applications that dealers can offer to their customers, such as access control, campus security, construction sites and vehicle location. This is just another COPS advantage.”
