COPS Monitoring Goes West

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.
Published: August 10, 2004

COPS Monitoring has added the Western half of the United
States to its watch with the opening of its Scottsdale,
Ariz., central station on June 15. COPS West inhabits 5,000-
square feet and will become redundant with the original
Williamstown, N.J., facility.

The stations will have separate personnel and equipment but
share COPS proprietary computer technology. Scottsdale
operators will function as though they were sitting next to
their Williamstown counterparts.

Maria Malice, vice president of Western operations and an
Arizona native, is heading the new station. Account
Managers Craig Sacks and Ron Kleinschmidt have also joined
the COPS West team.

Other new employees have been hired and trained; additional
personnel will be added during the next few months.

Scottsdale was selected as the new location for its size
and ability to offer a telecommunications infrastructure,
air transportation and labor pool. A grand opening party is
scheduled for September.
