COPS Monitoring to Provide Students With School Supplies and Parents With Job Opportunities

The monitoring company is helping out all students at a local elementary school, as well as their parents, who often have to make a decision between purchasing school supplies or paying for basic needs like rent, food and clothing.

BOCA RATON, Fla. — COPS Monitoring announced on Tuesday it will once again team up with Mission 500 on Aug. 10 and 12 to provide school supplies to young students and offer employment opportunities for parents.

COPS, along with security software company Segware and the Latin American Security Association (ALAS), will donate age-appropriate school supplies to every student during the Crosspointe Elementary back to school bash, which will take place Aug. 12. Supplies will include notebooks, scissors, crayons, pens, pencils, erasers, rulers and others.

“It is important to help fill the immediate need of providing children with the school supplies that will give them the ability to start the school year off right,” says Jim McMullen, president and COO of COPS Monitoring.

Local alarm dealers and the community will have the opportunity to come to COPS’ facility on Aug. 10 to prepare the backpacks for the students.

“We are so proud once again to be partnering with COPS and Mission 500,” says Crosspointe Elementary School Principal Annmarie Dilbert. “Crosspointe is classified as a Title I school, which means many of our parents have to choose between buying essential items for school and every day necessities such as food, clothing or rent.”

Inside the backpacks will also be notes for parents and guardians announcing employment opportunities and benefits at COPS Monitoring’s Boca Raton office, located seven minutes away from the elementary school.

“To have such generous business partners is a true blessing,” says Dilbert. “We are also grateful for the community bond they are helping create with possible sustainable employment with companies like COPS. We are ecstatic to have a generous extended family.”
