CSAA Addresses Industry Consolidation; Names Sevinor as New President

Published: November 30, 1999

The Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) annual conference Oct. 16-21 in Kapalua, Maui, mixed festive evenings with hard-nosed business discussions on key industry topics, such as police and fire relations, systems integration, remote CCTV monitoring and false alarms.

At the outset of the meeting – themed “Customer Service in the New Millennium” – CSAA members addressed the consolidation trend, which has reduced its core membership in recent years.

The association also recognized several individuals. Isaac Papier, managing engineer for Underwriters Laboratories (UL), received the association’s prestigious Stanley C. Lott Memorial Award for his work in creating standards for the industry. Ralph Sevinor, president of Wayne Alarm, was elected the association’s next president.
