CSAA Elects Ed Bonifas as President

Alarm Detection Systems Inc. (ADS) Vice President Ed Bonifas was recently appointed to a two-year term as president of the Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA). The official commencement took place at the 2009 CSAA Annual Meeting in Athens, Greece, in October.

Bonifas, who serves on the SSI editorial board, has been a fixture in the alarm industry for more than 30 years.

“I think that we are going to be able to face the challenges of the next couple of years head-on,” Bonifas says. “The people involved with CSAA are all at the top of their field, and I am surrounded by knowledgeable, well-versed security professionals.”

Bonifas, who has been a CSAA board member for a number of years, has chaired several committees during his tenure. He has also been a guest speaker at various industry conferences as well as numerous life-safety and public-safety forums.

He is a member of the American Society of Industrial Security, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and Building Officials and Code Administrators Int’l. He sits as a member of the NFPA Technical Committee on Supervising Station Fire Alarm Systems.

“I have been a part of the ever-shifting landscape of the security world for my entire life. I have learned how to adapt as new technologies take hold,” Bonifas says. “We’re in a great place to be able to seize new innovations and develop even better solutions for our customers.”
