CSAA Launches Online False Alarm Training Course
VIENNA, Va.
After a year of planning, an Internet course created to
educate end users on false alarm prevention has been put
online by the Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA).
The online course is being offered to law enforcement and
alarm companies as a way to help stem user error that leads
to false police dispatches.
The “CSAA False Alarm Online Training” site, first
announced last
January, provides a complete, user-friendly guide to
what alarm systems are and how they operate, and
illustrates the chain of events once an alarm is
activated.
The site is accessible through the CSAA’s main Web site at
TARGET=’_blank’>www.csaaul.org. Click the “False
Alarm Online Training” icon on the right side of the page
for more information and to access the course.
The online course is divided into two parts – one that
provides an overview of the false alarm problem and a
second part that provides solutions.
At the end of the course, a user will take an exam and be
able to print out a certificate upon completion.
CSAA says the course is designed with end users in mind,
but encourages alarm companies to consider it for employees
as well. Students pay a $39.95 fee to take the course.
