The Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) was ready to assist alarm monitoring companies that experienced communication system problems because of Hurricane Rita. CSAA announced before Rita made landfall that if a central station’s radio system was damaged by the storm, is licensed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and needs to be modified or relocated, the association would help the station prepare an FCC application and coordinate applications on an immediate turn-around basis.
Just weeks after Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast, Rita struck the area around the Texas-Louisiana border on Sept. 24 with winds of more than 125 mph and a large storm surge that flooded coastal towns in Southwest Louisiana out of existence.

In a matter related to Hurricane Katrina, CSAA is trying to help place a longtime employee of a Metairie, La., monitoring firm who has been displaced by Katrina.
