Two Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) standards have entered the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) public review and comment stage. Both standards will be open for comment until Feb. 11.
Carbon Monoxide Alarm Supervising Station Response (BSR/CSAA CS-CO-01-200x) defines the procedure to be followed by a supervising station when a carbon monoxide (CO) detector sends an alarm signal to the supervising station. It also outlines the response to the premises and for the responding authorities.
Video Verification Procedures for Burglar Alarms (BSR/CSAA CS-V-02-200x) defines minimum practices for the installation and monitoring procedures of burglar alarms by using the addition of video and its transmission from the protected premises for the verification of alarm activity. Its goal is to reduce the instances of false dispatches.
Security professionals are encouraged to participate in the commenting period by submitting suggestions through CSAA’s proposal form.
