CSAA’s Video Verification Committee has completed its work and submitted a request to the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for Video Verification Standard CS-V-02. Opening a 45-day public review, initiated with the ANSI Standards Action publication March 9 and ending April 23, this standard focuses on how to use video to verify alarm signals and to help visually identify the source of the alarm event. According to procedure, the standard is available up for review and comment.
In other standards news, the Alarm Verification and Notification Procedures Standards Committee has opened the CS-V-01 standard for revision. This standard formulated Enhanced Call Verification (ECV) as one of its components. The committee has opened a window for comments ending on May 11. This standard is an ANSI-approved standard and by ANSI procedure, must be open for revision at least every five years. Use the form at www.csaaul.org/Form_for_Proposals_on_CSAA_Standards_Documents.pdf to comment on either standard. The form may be submitted to [email protected] or by fax to Celia Besore at (703) 242-4675.
