CSAA to Launch Online False Alarm Reduction Class

VIENNA, Va.
Published: January 14, 2004

The Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) announced it
would provide an online training course to reduce false
alarms, allowing citizens to undergo training from the
privacy of their own homes. The first of its kind, the
course is open to any willing participant, but is designed
to help chronic alarm abusers ordered by the authority
having jurisdiction (AHJ) to receive training.

Upon the presentation of a certificate of satisfactory
completion, any fines are waived and suspended police
response is restored.

The class takes approximately four hours to complete, and
is a good alternative to rare AHJ classroom style programs,
CSAA said. AHJ programs are scarce because the number of
false alarms is too small to justify the expense of a
classroom course.
