Custom Alarm Garners Community Involvement Award

Published: December 27, 2006

Custom Alarm/Custom Communications Inc., a provider of security and sound products, announces it received the Minnesota Keystone Program’s Honored Company Award for the category of small business. Since 1995, Custom Alarm’s Corporate Giving Program seeks to address community needs through a combination of financial support and active community participation. The company gives at least 5 percent of its annual profits back to the community each year.

Custom Alarm and two other companies in the large and medium business categories were chosen from among more than 260 Minnesota companies to receive the award at the program’s recent recognition luncheon. The other companies not chosen were nevertheless recognized for giving 2 percent or more of their pretax net earnings to community enhancement programs.

The Minnesota Keystone Program was initiated in 1976 by the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce to encourage and commemorate corporate philanthropy in Minnesota.
