LAPEER, Mich.—The new Cypress Door Interface is a device the company says will help professional integrators save labor and money.
Cypress Integration Solutions explains that its latest product incorporates the OSDP protocol, which was developed under the leadership of the Security Industry Association, and according to the company, the protocol is becoming increasingly popular in the security market.
“The OSM-UDI accommodates non-OSDP door hardware, and allows it to be monitored and controlled on the OSDP network,” notes Jacob LeRoy, customer support specialist, Cypress Integration Solutions.
The Cypress Door Interface (OSM-UDI) can be used with an OSDP reader and an OSDP panel to control and monitor door hardware via OSDP messages. The company points out that systems that use the OSM-UDI can eliminate the need to run cable from each door hardware component back to the access control panel.
Some of the options the Cypress Door Interface provides integrators the company continues, is door position monitoring, Request to Exit switch (REX), door and gate strikes, tamper switches, and other auxiliary functions.
Cypress Integration Solutions says that along with the OSM-UDI product, it has also introduced other OSDP solutions at the just completed ISC West Show that include low-frequency OSDP readers and retrofit kits; an intelligent OSDP data reader, an embedded OSDP module for manufacturers, and a Wireless Handheld Reader with OSDP encrypted connections.
