Security industry veteran Charles Darsch of Honeywell Fire Systems will receive the 2006 Triton Award on Oct. 24. Honoring his achievement are the Security Industry Association (SIA), National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA) and Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA).
Currently, Darsch serves as a nonvoting vice president for SIA and as the association’s industry liaison to AIREF. He serves on the board of directors as the ex-officio Alarm Industry Research and Education Foundation (AIREF) representative and is an active member of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). He also is a life member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
“Charlie is a scholar and a gentleman,” says SIA Director David Avritt. “He has been a fixture in this industry for almost four decades and has seen and been a part of its tremendous growth and expansion. He is truly someone that personifies the Triton spirit and deserves to be a recipient of the Triton Award.”
The award will be presented at “Razamataz and All That Jazz,” the 2006 Tri-association Awards dinner on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at Cipriani’s 23rd Street in New York City.
Darsch is a past president of SIA, as well as a past recipient of SIA’s George R. Lippert Memorial Award. He is also the first vendor recipient of NBFAA’s Weinstock Award.
