Alarm installing and monitoring companies are getting more time to get together their entries for an award that will recognize to best efforts at helping prevent false alarms. The deadline for the first-ever Police Dispatch Quality (PDQ) Award has been extended to Dec. 30. Entering is free and representatives from the winning company will win a free trip to Las Vegas for the 2006 ISC West.

The Security Industry Alarm Coalition (SIAC) and the False Alarm Reduction Association (FARA) are collaborating on the PDQ Award along with co-sponsors Security Sales & Integration and Honeywell Security.

Examples of police department and security company cooperation are being collected to help create best practices guidelines in the PDQ program, and dealers and integrators are invited to share their winning stories. The best overall collaboration will be honored with the PDQ Award for 2006.

The winning alarm company will receive its award from a law enforcement representative at a ceremony in their hometown and have representatives receive an all-expense paid trip to Las Vegas for next year’s ISC West to present their success story at the 2006 SAMMY Awards.
