After the death of 20-year-old Erin Sperrey in Caribou,
Maine, at the hand of a co-worker, Mike Everhart, owner of
AAA Alarm Co. of Hampden, publicly made the offer to
install alarm systems and panic buttons for businesses that
cannot afford them. The only cost is the price of the
monthly monitoring.
After Sperrey’s untimely death, her family publicly said that they would like to see alarm systems and panic buttons installed in businesses where young people work.
According to For More Information (FMI), a subsidiary of Gannett Co., McLean, Va., Everhart stated, “I immediately went oh my God, if that was my daughter, I couldn’t even describe how this woman must feel to lose a child. I just can’t tell you how I would feel. It’s a shame, especially when a security system could have avoided that.”
