QUINCY, Mass. — Electronic security dealers and integrators are getting a chance to voice to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) any proposals they have for revisions to NFPA 731 — the Standard for Electronic Premises Security Systems. NFPA is accepting proposals for changes to the standard from members and nonmembers of the association through May.
After NFPA 731 was given its final approval in August, NFPA put 731 on a “fast track” for revisions and will put out a second edition of 731 in 2008. NFPA will be accepting proposals for changes through May 26, and the proposed changes don’t have to come from an NFPA member. In addition, NFPA will be accepting overall comments to be included in the draft of the second edition of NFPA 731 through March 2, 2007.
