Dedicated Micros, part of the AD Group, has earned industry recognition for developing an emergency messaging and mass notification system through its NetVu Connected CCTV systems. Dedicated Micros was awarded the Integrated Security Product of the Year title at IFSEC 2009 exhibition, held in the United Kingdom on May 11-14.
The emergency messaging system (EMS) was designed to provide authorities, police and end users with situational awareness and a two-way communication capability during a major incident or disaster. The system utilizes the ability of NetVu Connected systems to support a local display output and communicate over an IP network.
Dedicated Micros’ NetVu Connected systems are addressable and allow operators to identify all units in a given geographical area and pinpoint those units for communications by using a graphic user interface such as Pick-a-Point, a SMS or even an FM radio broadcast.
“We are delighted to have won the Integrated Security Product of the Year category in the Security Industry Awards held at IFSEC 2009,” says Mike Newton, founder of Dedicated Micros and CEO of AD Group. “This is yet another accolade for our emergency messaging and notification capability, which first came to prominence when it won the Best Software Product category in the IP in Security Innovation Awards, and reflects the genuinely groundbreaking nature of this solution.”
