Products and an installation by video security manufacturer Dedicated Micros Inc. (DM) will play a role in an upcoming episode of the Discovery Channel program “It Takes a Thief.” The May 25 episode will feature a look at the security weaknesses at the home of a collector of fine jewelry and the improvements provided by DM.

It will be the first of two appearances for DM and its products on “It Takes a Thief” this season. “This was an innovative way to showcase our leading digital video management products,” says DM Vice President of Marketing Don Taylor.

“It Takes a Thief” features two former burglars who perform a mock break-in of a home to reveal its security holes, then show what steps can be taken to prevent a real break-in.

Alarm company Scarsdale Security of New York has also been featured this season on the reality show.
