The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) placed another order
for Fargo Electronic Inc.‘s high-definition card
printer/encoder. The order is part of the “Common Access
Card” Project headed up by the DoD. This second order of
Fargo’s new HDP600-LC laminating card printer/encoders
totals to 276.

The DoD first placed an order of 125 printer/encoders in April 2004. “We are proud to be contributing to the overall security of our service personnel through our participation in the ‘Common Access Card’ Project,” says Gary R. Holland, Fargo’s president and chief executive officer.

The DoD and the “Common Access Card” Project will issue identification cards for approximately 4,000,000 active duty uniformed service personnel, selected reserves, DoD civilians and eligible contractor personnel.
