Detection Systems Inc. (DS) and Bosch Security Systems Corp. announce their acquisition agreement was confirmed on Jan. 22, which means that Detection Systems is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH. Both companies design and manufacture security product lines.
Karl Kostusiak, chairman of Detection Systems, says “The merged company will carry forth the traditions of customer satisfaction, technological innovation, high quality and customer service that form the basis of Detection Systems’ and Radionics’ 32-year history of success.” Looking into the future, as chairman emeritus, Kostusiak says he will be working with Peter Ribinski, the recently appointed CEO of the newly named organization, Bosch Detection Systems, to achieve its future goals.
Uwe Glock, president, security systems, of Bosch Telecom GmbH, adds, “We look forward to working together with Detection Systems’ customers and employees toward a prosperous future. We have long been interested in acquiring the company because we believe there are tremendous product, technology and marketplace synergies.” Under the agreement, Radionics will remain Detection Systems’ premium dealer direct channel in the United States with increased emphasis on products and service.
The DS brand will also continue to be supported through distribution partners and the existing customer base.
