Devcon Buys Miami’s International Monitoring Inc.

Published: March 21, 2006

Devcon Security Services Corp. has added more residential monitoring accounts after acquiring Miami, Fla.-based central station International Monitoring Inc. (IMI) from Tri-S Security Corp. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Tri-S acquired IMI as a part of its October pick-up of guard services company The Cornwall Group. Tri-S managers said in a press release that they plan on concentrating on the company’s core security guard businesses and needed to divest IMI.

“As Tri-S Security continues to move forward, we are committed to staying true to our business model and to serving a different type of customer,” says Tri-S CEO Ronald Farrell.

IMI, founded in 1972, is a UL-Listed central station serving commercial, industrial and residential customers in the Miami/Dade County area.
