Devcon Security Names Richard Ginsburg as New CEO

Published: March 1, 2012

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — Industry veteran Richard Ginsburg has been appointed CEO of Devcon Security, which is owned by San Francisco-based private equity firm Golden Gate Capital.

A member of SSI‘s Hall of Fame, Ginsburg started Guardian Int’l in 1993 and served as the company’s CEO until 2001. In his role at Guardian, Ginsburg built the company into the 16th largest security monitoring business in the nation. Devcon, which services nearly 300,000 residential and commercial clients, purchased Guardian in 2006.

In 2001, Ginsburg joined Protection 1 as president and CEO, where he led the team for nine years until the company was sold to private equity firm GTCR in 2010.

“Devcon is well positioned in an expanding market space,” Ginsburg says. “I’m pleased for the opportunity to work with Devcon’s management team and a private equity partner of Golden Gate Capital’s caliber. The roots are planted and we have the people, systems, and services to compete effectively. I am very excited for the future of Devcon.”
