Device Server Allows IT to Interface Security With Corporate Networks

Published: June 30, 2006

Lantronix Inc. of Irvine, Calif., announces the EDS4100 evolution device server. Lantronix claims this is the first device server that allows IT-certified administrators to connect nontraditional IT equipment to a corporate network. Lantronix’s open standards-based approach enables IT personnel to use the same equipment and communication protocols used in conventional networks. This includes routers, servers and switches.

The EDS4100’s operating system provides a high level of security and standards-based protocols.  According to the company, this includes a powerful development platform through which unlimited control can be exercised over attached equipment. It also allows security experts to more easily customize their systems.
