DHS Releases $19M to Targeted Nonprofit Institutions

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has provided $19 million to more than 270 nonprofit institutions, which are considered vulnerable to attack.

Of the 271 institutions, 254 are Jewish synagogues, schools, community centers and offices, according to JTA.org.

The funds, which were released as a part of the Nonprofit Security Grant Program, will be used for video surveillance, blast-proof windows, reinforced doors, locks gates, fences and other security enhancements.
