DHS Selects SightLogix, Other Vendors for Public Safety Program
PRINCETON, N.J.
U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has selected SightLogix Inc.’s wireless perimeter surveillance and scene monitoring rapid deployment kit for its Commercial Equipment Direct Assistance Program (CEDAP).
CEDAP is part of DHS efforts to strengthen the nation’s level of preparedness with pre-emptive and post-incident management security solutions for state and local jurisdictions. Eligible applicants include law enforcement agencies, fire, and other emergency responders who demonstrate that the equipment will be used to improve their ability and capacity to respond to a major critical incident or work with other first responders.
Along with SightLogix’s solution, the CEDAP program is providing Cisco System’s video surveillance manager, which is a combination of their Media Server, Operations Manager and Virtual Matrix software, and Panasonic ruggedized ToughBook portable computers.

The 2008 CEDAP application period runs through June 30. The competitive program awards are only made to those agencies or departments that complete the application process during the allotted time period, and have requested equipment that meets their jurisdictional needs and the strategies of their state homeland security program.
