LARGO, Fla. —DITEK announces the launch of the DTK-WM4 family of wall-mount network surge protectors. These 4-channel devices provide robust surge protection for any desired combination of Ethernet, PoE and PoE Extender circuits, while supporting data speeds up to 10GbE, according to the company.
The compact design features rapid-replacement surge protection modules with shielded RJ45 connections, making it well-suited for smaller installations that do not require large rack-mounted protection systems.
“Smaller installations need just as much network surge protection as large installations – in fact, they may be even more dependent on each circuit,” says Jason Klein, national sales manager, DITEK. “Now it is easier than ever to include best-in-breed protection as a part of every project.”
There are two versions of the surge protector available. The DTK-WM4NETS is a 4-channel Ethernet and PoE surge protector, while the DTK-WM4EXTS is a 4-channel PoE Extender surge protector.
Both versions use the same award-winning design as the company’s rack-mount models, but in a compact package. The modular design allows for rapid replacement measured in seconds, and the protection modules are the same as the larger rack-mount devices, so one set of spares will support a full range of installations, according to the company.
DITEK says its state-of-the-art network protection circuitry features a hybrid design with both Silicon Avalanche Diode (SAD) and Gas Discharge Tube (GDT) technologies for what it claims is the best IP network protection available in the market.
The field-replaceable protection modules offer 20kA per pair surge current capacity — the highest available for shielded network devices. All models are compatible with CAT5e, CAT6 and CAT6A cabling infrastructure.
