LENEXA, Kan. — DMP has expanded its research and development capacity and capabilities with the recent opening of the DMP Innovation Center here.
Engineers and other security system development experts will be housed in the new facility, said to enhance the company’s ability to develop and design industry-leading technology. The Lenexa facility is in addition to the engineering area located at the corporate headquarters in Springfield, Mo. This expansion will enable DMP to meet the demand for its array of intrusion, fire, access control and network and cellular communication products.
“To continue our growth and achieve our goals we need to continue to expand our engineering and product development capability,” said Rick Britton, DMP CEO. “This new facility, combined with an expansion of our current engineering department in Springfield, will give us the space we need to bring additional, new engineers onboard. This significantly expanded engineering capability means that DMP-authorized dealers and their customers can look forward to continued innovation and industry-leading products from DMP.”
In addition to the newly opened Lenexa facility, DMP will also expand its current product research and development capacity with a doubling of its existing engineering department, adding 75,000 square feet of new space to its headquarters facility this spring. This represents the fifth major expansion at the company’s headquarters facility in Springfield since moving there in 2000, according to the company. The last expansion was the 2011 addition of 35,000 square feet, providing added manufacturing and warehouse space.
