Doyle Security Makes Acquisition; More on Tap for 2016

New customers will have access to a home automation platform, among an expanded offering of new monitoring services.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Doyle Security Systems, a regional provider of residential and commercial security, fire and medical monitoring systems, has acquired the accounts of Alert Protective Systems. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Since 1988 Alert Protective Systems has specialized in providing intrusion and fire systems for homes and businesses in the Rochester area. Doyle Security President and CEO John Doyle Jr., tells SSI the purchase will add approximately 650 accounts – a mix of 60% commercial, 40% residential – to Doyle Security, which has been family owned and operated in Rochester since 1919.

Doyle says the agreement will benefit their new customers, in particular by offering them Doyle Total Connect, a home automation solution by Honeywell with remote mobile management, as well as alarm monitoring services provided by the company’s UL-listed and CSAA Five Diamond-certified central station.

The acquisition did not include facilities, Doyle says. The former owner and founder of Alert Protective Systems, David Riekstins, is retiring from the business. Doyle Security has taken on one of its technicians.

The regional security provider is on pace to report recurring revenue of about $794,000 in 2015, Doyle tells SSI. More deal-making is on tap to increase the company’s RMR.

“We have a number of acquisitions that we are working on and expect to close in 2016,” he says.
