Drone’s Eye View: Video Footage Shows Flood’s Devastating Aftermath

Video footage taken by drones shows the devastation of a severe storm system that has resulted in the deaths of 19 people in Oklahoma and Texas.

HOUSTON – Video surveillance footage taken by drones showing the devastation caused by a line of storms that stretched through the nation’s mid-section and produced destructive floods in parts of Texas has emerged online.

The severe storms have resulted in the deaths of at least 19 people- 12 in Texas and another 7 in Oklahoma, NBC News reports.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has declared disaster areas in 37 counties as a result of the floods.

Weatherford, Texas-based Pro Vision Global Digital Surveillance, a security and surveillance solutions company, sent a drone out to survey flooding along Memorial Drive in Houston NBC News reports.

Another video captured on a GoPro camera carried by a Blade 350QX Quadcopter shows the remains of the Fischer Store Road Bridge, which was washed out over the Blanco River, Mashable reports. 

 

Authorities are currently searching for 14 people in Texas, including a group that disappeared after a vacation home was swept down the river and slammed into a bridge in the Hay’s County town of Wimberley.
