DSC, a supplier of electronic intrusion alarm products, announces it has received IPC Association Connecting Electronics Industries’ Certification for Lead Free Electronics Assembly Process Capability.
The certification entails an audit of the electronics assembly facility to determine if the facility is capable of producing product that meets the lead-free requirements of the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive. The audit is not designed to ensure that a facility will produce lead-free-compliant products. Instead, the program is a means for a facility to validate its lead-free electronics assembly process capabilities.
“The IPC lead-free certification audit should be a mandatory step for any RoHS lead-free conversion process,” says Charles Han, general manager of DSC’s Toronto location. “As part of our commitment to the environment and to providing value to our customers, DSC is taking a leadership position in lead-free conversion.”
