Training Reels now offers a video-based training course in
custom electronic installation, which is comprised of three
DVDs and a 110-page workbook. The course covers the basics
behind residential systems installations regardless of the
type of systems being installed providing a solid
foundation on which to build once the student graduates to
the field.

“This is a completely updated and revised course,
targeted to the new residential installation technician,
covering the technical knowledge common to all residential
low-voltage installation,” says Zeynep Erkan, executive
producer of Training Reels.

Zeynep says that, like all The Training Dept. videos,
this one combines the best field and studio demonstrations,
graphics and animations. The intent is to keep the material
enjoyable and easy to follow.

The three-DVD course covers codes, standards, and safety; cable basics; connectors; jobsite practices and documentation; and installation methods.

The 110-page workbook includes a series of 50 questions that entitles the student to five Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) CEU credits. As an added bonus, Zeynep says that the course also prepares students for the CEDIA Installer Level 1 examination.
