DVR Features 4 Video/Audio Channels, MPEG-4 Compression with Small Footprint

Published: January 31, 2006

Honeywell Security of Louisville, Ky., introduces the HRDE 4×4, a DVR with four audio and video channels. The system is designed for small- to medium-sized businesses, such as production shops, service stations, gas stations and small dealerships.  It has a relatively small footprint, which is helpful where space is at a premium.

According to Honeywell, the HRDE 4×4 features MPEG-4 interframe compression, which is conducive to delivering high-quality video and increased storage capacity. The operating system is embedded, stored in a nonvolatile memory chip that, according to the company, allows trouble-free, appliance-like operation.
