i3DVR Int’l of Toronto now produces its rack-mounted DVR using aluminum instead of steel. This makes the product’s chassis lighter and more manageable, along with giving it a more modern physical appearance.
According to i3DVR, a lighter DVR chassis will reduce the cost of shipping, while improvements in the unit’s physical construction provide better airflow and circulation. The aluminum chassis will actually absorb internal heat. These features should act together to prolong the life of the components in the DVR.
