A set of transactions has resulted in the Digital Datacatch
line of digital and network video recorders changing hands.
Security solutions provider E-Quip recently acquired
Digital Datacatch from Patapsco Designs Inc. and its parent
company.

American Computer Development Inc. (ACDI) acquired Patapsco Designs last Fall from Circuit City Stores Inc. and has indicated it will concentrate on Patapsco’s electronic printed circuit board products.

E-Quip, founded in 1994 in Frederick, Md., performs installations and integrations of security systems in the mid-Atlantic region, and also manufactures electronic security products. All three companies – E-Quip, Patapsco and ACDI – are based in Frederick. E-Quip CEO Robert Cannon says he is pleased with the acquisition.

“We know from our own experience that Digital Datacatch has a longstanding reputation throughout the industry for superior technology and performance,” said Cannon in a statement. “Operating as a division of E-Quip, the Digital Datacatch product line will add tremendous value by allowing E-Quip to expand and strengthen its product and service offerings to the benefit of both our valued customers and our company.”
