Irvine, Calif.-based, HID Global‘s Edge Solo is a standalone, single-door IP-based access control solution that can be run through standard Cat-5/6 wiring and is able to use PoE or external power supply. The design includes an integrated iCLASS® reader or allows connection to any Wiegand or most clock and data readers.
Through a Web browser it can be converted from a standalone to a host-based system reader. According to HID, a user-friendly, instructional Web environment, designed and focus-group tested for use in the “real world,” allows cardholder information, schedules and card assignment management through its user interface.
