The 2018 SSI Wage & Salary Study reveals there is a direct correlation between hourly wages paid and company size.

The comprehensive study of security industry wages and salaries, which was conducted in February 2018 with 217 responses recorded, shows  larger companies tend to offer higher compensation to their installation personnel and service technicians.

According to the dataset below, an entry-level installer making $13.69 per hour for a company with less than $100K in revenues could put in two years’ time and more than double their salary with a $50M-$99M company.

This might lead one to assume that working for the largest company possible would lead to receiving the highest salary possible. However, experienced installation and service techs (2+ yrs.) reported making more for a company with revenues of $10M-$50M than those with revenues of $100M+.

Overall, all four categories see an increase of around $6/hr when jumping from a company with revenues less than $100K to a company with $100M+.

The study also reveals that commercial security integrators earn more than residential ones and employees of national alarm companies make more than those who work for regional ones.
