DALLAS — The Electronic Security Association (ESA) is now accepting applications for the 2026 Empowering Women in Technology scholarship, designed to support women advancing careers in electronic security and life safety technology.
Six women will receive complimentary training and certification “to help strengthen their skills and professional growth,” according to the ESA announcement.
“Women bring unique perspectives and innovation to our industry,” says ESA chief operating officer Jillian Bateman-McIntosh in the association announcement. “This scholarship is an investment in their careers and in the future of the industry.”
Why Apply for the ESA Women in Technology Scholarship?
ESA’s Certified Alarm Technician certifications “set the industry standard for preparing today’s fleet of technicians and managers,” the announcement says.
They “align with industry best practices and lend credibility to the certification holder,” according to the association announcement. Candidates “undergo a rigorous training and examination process and successful achievement demonstrates that an individual has acquired the knowledge and skills required for success in the field.”
The program will award three Certified Alarm Technician Level 1 certifications and three Level 2 certifications, providing industry-standard training for technicians and managers.
Applications for the 2026 ESA Empowering Women in Technology scholarship are open through April 3 and the winners will be notified on April 9.
