ESA Hosts Successful 2010 Leadership Summit
— Electronic Security Association (ESA) members from across the nation enthusiastically supported the 2010 ESA Leadership Summit in Fort Worth, Texas, held Jan. 12-14. The event comprised three days of meetings, seminars, networking receptions and more.
A highlight of the event was the 2010 Leadership Awards dinner, emceed by Ron Davis of Davis Marketing Group and SSI’s “The Big Idea” columnist. Awards presented during the affair included the following winners: Chapter of the Year, Arizona Alarm Association; Chapter Executive Director of the Year, Gwen Clavell, Louisiana Life Safety and Security Association; Chapter President of the Year, Maria Malice, Arizona Alarm Association; NTS Instructor of the Year, Don Childers; Newsletter of the Year, InSecurity, produced by the Arizona Alarm Association; and NTS Training Coordinator of the Year, John Yusza from Connecticut.
A breakfast presentation by John Galante of AE Ventures outlined the new 2011 Leadership Summit format, which will consist of a two-day hosted event followed by two days of traditional summit activities.
Committee and board of directors meetings, and the Young Security Professionals meeting were also features of the summit. Educational seminars targeting social media, nondues revenue and 2010 industry trends rounded out the three-day event.
