ESA Installs 3 Officers, Passes Bylaw Amendments
The Electronic Security Association (ESA) elected three new officers and voted to pass three bylaw amendments during the 2015 Electronic Security Expo.
G. Thomas Eggebrecht, Ph. D. of Bonds Alarm Company was elected to a one-year term as vice president/president elect.
Steven E. Paley of Rapid Security Solutions was elected to a two-year term as treasurer.
Dee Ann Harn of RFI Enterprises was elected to serve a two-year term as vice president. Harn was selected from a pool of four candidates, which also included Chester Donati of DMC Security Services, Roy Pollack of Comcast Broadband Security, and Rick Simpson of Vector Security.
Additionally, members voted on three bylaw amendments during the annual meeting, which will go into effect immediately.
Amendment No. 1 revised Section 18.104.22.168 to provide that an individual cannot act as the primary or secondary voting representative for more than one member at a time.
Amendment No. 2 added a provision to Subsection 5.3.1 stating that no two officers may be employed by the same ESA member at any one time, except in the case where an officer changes employment from one member to another during his or her term, in which case that officer shall be allowed to complete their term.
Finally, amendment No. 3 adds Section 22.214.171.124, stating that any nominee who changes employment from one ESA member to another or accepts an offer of employment from a different member prior to their election must, in either event, notify the Election Committee prior to such election of his or her change in job status or, alternatively, withdraw his or her name from consideration as a nominee.
