ESX Educational Program to Focus on Emerging Opportunities, Best Practices

ESX 2015 will offer a full slate of educational sessions for installing security contractors geared to helping them succeed in a fast-evolving industry.

BALTIMORE – Organizers of the educational program at the 2015 Electronic Security Expo (ESX) have released the scheduled curriculum to be presented during the event, held June 24-26.

“This year we’ve raised the bar on our ESX educational program even further to give attendees the tools they need to make big decisions and prepare for change,” says ESX Chairman George De Marco.

The names of the session tracks have been changed to reflect an emphasis on analysis and action. The new tracks are: Run Your Company, Grow Your Business, Maximize Your Central Station – and Rethink the Future.

De Marco worked closely with ESX Educational Chairman Don Childers of Security Central and track chairs Kelly Bond of Alarm Capital Alliance, Kirk MacDowell of Alarm.com, Joe Miskulin of State Farm Insurance and Steven Paley of Rapid Security Solutions to create a mix of content that includes ways to maximize RMR, operational and management best practices, emerging technologies, sales strategies and training and recruiting techniques.

The coursework will feature issues and opportunities surrounding Big Data, digital video, DIY, best practices in marketing and social media, how dealers/integrators can reposition themselves to become solutions providers, monetizing the Internet, and how to employ technology tools that increase efficiency within our businesses.

An important part of the program is the caliber of the speakers, says Childers, every one of whom has been selected for their hands-on experience with their topic. “We’re bringing in experts who’ve been in the trenches themselves to share their experiences. Attendees will hear diverse viewpoints and analyze a variety of techniques,” he says.

Following are some of the offered sessions and descriptions:
Build a Better Company – Vision and Culture will teach attendees to create a roadmap for their company’s future. Attendees will learn to define their vision for their company and develop strategies to support that vision within every department, as well as how to create a company culture that supports that vision and energizes the organization.

What’s Next for Your Business?  Assess Your Options will provide information and insights leaders need to decide whether their next step will be ownership change, growth by acquisition, organic growth or some other model. Attendees will receive a full exploration of alternatives, models, pitfalls and tips, and will leave with an understanding of how to pursue their option of choice.

No Pain Equals Gain: Create an Ideal Customer Journey will focus on how to create a painless customer experience which will earn both return business and new referrals. Attendees will learn how to keep the momentum of a good first impression going, eliminate customer pain points and solicit ongoing feedback.
