Extreme CCTV Int’l Inc., a division of Extreme CCTV Inc., announces an alliance with Livermore, Calif.-based Vigilant Video, a provider of advanced video analytics solutions.
Vigilant will integrate Extreme CCTV’s imaging technology into its flagship CarDetector™ license plate recognition system platform.
The system recently passed trial testing with Cisco’s 3200 Series mobile access router, resulting in automated intelligent license plate reading through Cisco’s city-wide wireless mesh networks, according to the company.
The product, which is targeted toward law enforcement applications, uses artificial intelligence and sensor technology to scan and capture license plate information. It triggers automatic alarms for positive matches against federal, state and local databases of criminal activities and stolen vehicles.
“We selected Extreme’s license plate imaging technology for its outstanding performance, especially for North American plates,” says Vigilant’s Joe Harzewski, vice president sales and marketing. “The effectiveness and reliability of Extreme’s technology make it an imperative component of our CarDetector system.”
