Extreme CCTV to Provide Footage of Endangered Big Cats

BELLINGHAM, Wash.
Published: March 20, 2007

Extreme CCTV’s WZ18 All-Weather Integrated Day-Night cameras will provide rare video footage of some of the most endangered and elusive cats in the world for the Wildlife Conservation Network (WCN). The footage will enable WCN conservationists and scientists to better understand the Snow Leopard, Andean Mountain cat and Chinese Desert cat, each among the world’s rarest felines.

The WZ18 is designed for 24/7 operation in challenging conditions. According to Extreme CCTV, it produces vivid daytime color and 65-foot active-infrared night vision.  The cameras will be installed at locations in the alpine and subalpine mountains of Central Asia, the inhospitable deserts of the Andes and the subzero temperatures of the Tibetan highlands.
