Fans Feel the Glare of Surveillance in Cincinnati

With the recent incidents of fighting among professional
athletes and fans, security is increasing at arenas across
the nation. Paul Brown Stadium, home of the Cincinnati
Bengals, is taking precautions to monitor
altercations. “One thing this year that helps quite a bit
is we’re getting better utilization out of our security
cameras in the bowl,” says Bengals business manager Bill
Connelly.

The stadium uses high-powered lenses on four pan-tilt-zoom cameras to monitor hot spots, according to Connelly. “We can put them on any area we want. Those are monitored by law enforcement officers.”

Connelly says they can get an altercation on tape and review it to find out who it was that caused the fight.
